Block of Month Survey

We are about to enter the last quarter of this year’s Block of the month program and we are designing and planning next years’s program.

In December we will be offering several sets of instructions that will tell you how to finish your blocks into a large quilt, table topper, and/or table runner. We love options and verstility and we like providing it for you too.

The Batik and Kaffe versions seemed very popular so we are planning to continue to offer both. We do have several questions for you and would love your feed back as we are planning next year’s program.

1) Did you like the level of complexity in this year’s program? Were the blocks challenging enough? Or would you prefer simpler blocks?

2) Did you enjoy the pre-cut pieces?

3) Were the blog instruction videos helpful?

4) What color combinations would you like to see?

5) How can we improve the program for you?

6) If you did not participate, would you like to participate next year?

The challenge level was fine… you could even rachet it up a notch.
    2) Did you enjoy the pre-cut pieces?
I loved the pre-cut pieces. Found myself going to your BOM first when I needed a relaxing sewing fix.
    3) Were the blog instruction videos helpful?
I missed the boat on that one; will check the blog when the next block arrives.
    4) What color combinations would you like to see?
Black, white and a zinger (teal, lime green, fushia)

    5) How can we improve the program for you?
No ideas for this one. I enjoyed it exactly the way it was!

    6) If you did not participate, would you like to participate next year?
Will definately participate again…and encourage my quilting “sisters” to join as well.

I would like to do it next yr but I don’t know how….

    1. I loved the colors but would prefer something a bit more challenging; how about applique?
    2. Yes, pre-cut pieces were easy to work with.
    3. I watched only one video and thought it was very well done.
    4. Bright colors are my favorite.

I really loved everything about the BOM – precut pieces were perfect, each block was easy to follow along with the pattern and the video instruction. I’m not sure what color’s I would like, that was the great thing about doing this – I didn’t have to decide. You did that for me. I’ll definitely do it again next year. Thank you for all the time and effort you put into this Wendy.

I love quilts that combine applique and piecing too! There will be an opportunity to embellish this year’s quilt with applique if you choose. We have left space for you to play too. :) (And let me tell you the final quilt would look stuning with vining flowers, feathers -or birds :) )

To participate in next year’s BOM you will need to register online or in the store for the program you want to participate in. Cathy will notify you when registration opens for next year via the newsletter. So make sure you are signed up for the weekly newesletter and are recieving them.

    1) yes 2)yes 3)yes 4)black, white, red, or , teal, purple, and hunter green 5)I would examine all the fabric chosen for the bom, because some of the solid fabric for Kaffe Fassett’s bom wasn’t a good weave and some of the fabric blocks were missing a thread or two in the block. 6)I will definitely participate again
It was so very nice to have the pieces already cut and having the video and the paper instructions made it very to sew the block together. I think next year I will change to batiks??.
Wendy thank you for your hard work and I appreciate having the opportunity to be able to work with different fabric designers. Maybe you could do one with Amy Butler Fabrics, etc.

I really enjoyed this BOM. The precut pieces are great, please keep that as part of next year’s. Being rather new to quilting, I thought the level of challenge was just right. I might have looked at one of the blog videos but for the most part the written instructions were so very clear that I didn’t need the blog. As far as color combinations I would like a blue – green combo or an orange-yellow-red or a black and white plus. I’m not certain how I would improve or change the program. I liked that we had 10 days to pick up the new block. Thanks for the fun!

    1) Did you like the level of complexity in this year’s program? Were the blocks challenging enough? Or would you prefer simpler blocks?
I’d like to see you step up the complexity level a bit.
    2) Did you enjoy the pre-cut pieces?
Pre-cut pieces are a wonderful idea
    3) Were the blog instruction videos helpful?
    Yes
    4) What color combinations would you like to see?
I’m open to any color combinations but would like to see batiks used again.
    5) How can we improve the program for you?
I don’t have any improvements to suggest. The 10 day window to pick up each month’s kit is nice – please don’t change that part.
    6) If you did not participate, would you like to participate next year?
I did not get to the shop in time to register to participate this year but I already have it on my calendar for next year. I’m looking forward to participaing in your block of the month program next year.
