Quilts on the Go – Trunk Show

We just loved the quilts from the Quilts on the Go trunk show! We had to send them on to the next lucky shop, but in case you missed them, here is a sample. We still have a few of the exclusive patterns – you can only get these from a shop that has booked the trunk show. We have put them on our website for easy access. Nancy’s Perfect Ten

You all know that we love, love, love the Perfect Ten quilt pattern by Swirly Girls Design. Nancy made this one out of pastel Batiks. Isn’t it gorgeous? By the way, the quilt hanging next to it was also a perfect ten from holiday fabrics. Just 10 fat quarters and an afternoon and you will have a Perfect Ten too!

Carnival Lights

Introducing – Carnival Lights! my first solo design and pattern. I designed this bed runner for the Quilt! Carolina event which kicks off today with Terrific Thursday! We are celebrating Carnival at Wish with all of the bright lights, beads, colors. Kaffe Fassett fabrics were the perfect choice for our celebration! You can see the bed runner at Wish and we’ve even cut up a bunch of circle kits for you to make it easy to make your very own bed runner!

I’m really excited about this year’s Quilt! Carolina event – it is completely new with great project patterns for you, fantastic prizes and tons of fun! Your purchase of a passport gives you 9 full color patterns now (one from each shop) and a bonus project and patterns that you will pick up during the event September 15-24th, 2011. I visited The Women’s Healing Place the other day. I am always amazed by the healing power of quilts – this one was made by women who had never quilting before entering The Healing Place. Fabulous!

First Place!

While walking the market floor today, Mom received a call from her husband, Clark (shown above), that his quilt WON first place in the Heart of the Triad Quilt Show! Clark started quilting a little over a year ago and this is his third quilt. The pattern is Here, There and Everywhere (yes, we have the patterns in the store) and the quilt was beautifully quilted by Bethany Pease. We will have the quilt on display in the store later this month…make sure to come in and see it!

Simply Amazing

I love, love, love flowers and especially tulips! My Mom and I decided to take a little break and head over to The Salt Lake Tabernacle to hear an organ recital today. The Tabernacle has THE BEST acoustics and the recital was amazing. These flowers surrounding the Tabernacle were stunning! A great day in Salt Lake City…now back to work…Quilt Market starts in full swing at 8 a.m….stay tuned.

I was lucky enough to meet up with Susan and Christine from Swirly Girls Design shortly after arriving in Salt Lake City today. Imagine my happy surprise when they gave me a copy of their brand new book! I love every quilt in this book – can’t wait to share this with you!
