Nancy surprised us again at April’s Cut Up Club meeting with Little Charmer made from a Hunky Dory charm pack. She used the leftover charms to make the Charm Party Tote! This would be a great baby gift – a quilt with a matching diaper bag! What do you think? Club members shared their previous month’s cut up quilts and they are gorgeous! Come join the fun by signing up here.

Cut Up Club has been full of surprises this year and recently Nancy used Cozy Quilt’s great One Fish Two Fish Pattern. Like all Cut Up Club quilts, we use pre-cut fabrics to make quick, easy and fun quilts. We have a couple of kits in the store if you would like one. Better yet, come and join the Cut Up Club fun.

These were from our March Cut Up’s, I have been behind on blogging but getting caught up now. Sorry about that!
It’s May and another block in the Y Not? Block of the Month program is available. We have another fun mosaic.
Batik participants be careful with the placement of your fabrics. The light green is your background and the dark green is your frame. Don’t pair the dark green with your accent green pieces. Keep referring back to the finished block image so you don’t get the pieces turned around.
Kaffe participants, have some fun with the stripes before you sew your rows together. Try aligning them and mixing them up. Go with the orientation you like the best.
The demo video steps through the assembly instructions and then offers some good tips on how to trouble shoot half square triangle unit issues.
Don’t forget to pick your blocks up before the 10th or you will have to pay a late fee. Have fun playing!
The Cut Up Club has been busy this year! They started January with a really quick 10 minute block quilt called Big Blocks Quick Quilt. Nancy chose black, white and red for this quilt using a Layercake and added yo-yo’s to embellish the center of the blocks. Cute!
Next up was a jellyroll pattern called Star Struck. It seems that we all love blue, yellow and stars! Our Cut Up Club is designed to try different pre-cut fabrics to make quick and gorgeous quilts. Come join us!
What has been going on in our Cut Up Club? Nancy Kennedy took the reins as the instructor for Cut Ups and has some great quilts planned for this year. There will be a little bit of something for every taste. Take a look at our January Quilt - the 10 minute Big Block Quilt by Design Originals. (and yes, the block really does take just 10 minutes!). Nancy loves to embellish, so she added yo-yos to the middle of the block. Love it!
