Made With Love To Honor Our Troops

February 14th, 2012

Words do not adequately express the appreciation I have for all of the quilters that helped make this beautiful quilt. Wish Upon A Quilt was selected by Moda Fabrics to create a quilt from some of the 14,000 blocks that Moda received from their Just One Star program. All of the quilts from the Just One Star program will go to the Quilts of Valor foundation to be given to a service member as a thank you for their service to our country. We asked our customers to help put the blocks together and Angela Clark of Thread Waggle Quilting generously donated the quilting. Backing and batting was provided by Wish. The names of all the customers who helped on the quilt are on the label. I’m sure the recipient of this quilt will feel loved when they receive it. Thank you all and Happy Valentine’s Day!

First Quilts are the best!

February 6th, 2012

These are the very first machine quilts that these four ladies have made – they are stunning! Meet Karen, Krista, Maybeth and Sharon – four of our Beginning Quilting students. They used Terry Atkinson’s Slide Show pattern and completed these in just 4 weeks! If you have ever wanted to learn to make a quilt, now is the time! Sign up for our newsletter to find out more.

Building Blocks – February blocks are ready!

February 4th, 2012

How are you coming along with your Building Blocks? Do you feel a little out of your comfort zone by designing the block coloration yourself? If you do, congratulations! It is good to try something new and a block of the month is the perfect way to fine tune and stretch your skills. You have enough fabric in each kit to make 2 blocks, so if you don’t like the first one…try a different color combination in the second one. This is how we colored ours – we are having so much fun with this program…hope you are too! Happy building and quilting!

Quilts on the Go – Trunk Show

January 28th, 2012

We just loved the quilts from the Quilts on the Go trunk show! We had to send them on to the next lucky shop, but in case you missed them, here is a sample. We still have a few of the exclusive patterns – you can only get these from a shop that has booked the trunk show. We have put them on our website for easy access. Be sure to check out Exact Change, Crossroads and Time for Blooms.  All of the patterns are on our website here. The designers of these great patterns are Swirly Girls Design, Plum Tree Quilts and Kari Patch Designs.

Be sure to stay tuned for the next great trunk show to arrive!
