Absolutely lovely. I am a fan of Pres. Obama, He has so much on his plate and people expect it to be done yesterday. Bless you dear lady for your contribution.

I'm a new quilter but have sewn and knitted all my life, so this is a new venue. In researching quilts someone dear to me suggested I see your quilt.

Having campainged very deligently in Greenville, NC for our President, I am delighted to see something beyond words to tell him we are so happy he is our new leader.

I am a creative writer and photographer, but I am first a very tactile person. To write I have to hold pen and paper to "feel" what I write. To photo shoot I have to touch the object I'm shooting (or the area near it). When I play piano I have to move my hands over the keys before I play. :) I even touch food I'm about to prepare with something close to adoration.

So you see, rediscovering creative sewing is a new and beautiful world to me now that I have a bit of time with my children grown. (This was all spawned by sewing blankets for MY baby having her first baby.)

I'm from a family of fabric women. Once, recently, I took down a quilt my grandmother made during the Great Depression, and putting it on the bed, my 84 year old mother exclaimed with pure joy. pointing to scraps sewn here and there in the simple pattern, "Oh, there is my dress. My favorite dress. The only one I recall from childhood!" What a story the quilt was whispering to me after she went home.

I live in Greenville, NC. Please tell me when you'll be discussing this or other quilts you've made with groups. I'd like to attend.

Thank you for representing NC with your gift of a beautiful quilt for our president. It's stunningly powerful and amazingly beautiful with a strong kind of lovliness.

All best to you in your future quilting. Hope to hear you speak someday.

Carol spoke to Bernina Club last year. She does a lot of research on her quilts and uses all kinds of techniques to achieve her vision. She is a very interesting person.

Beautiful Quilt!! Barack Obama being our new president is a dream for many of us who voted. I hope the quilt event will be in a book for those of us who are not there in person. Enjoy every minute!
