Quilt Market – Giveaway!

Thursday, May 20th, 2010

There were so many great things to see today and it is always fun to run into the people that actually design all of the great fabrics we make our quilts and projects with. Today, I was lucky enough to be sitting behind THREE of my favorite designers and they were kind enough to let me take a picture. Do you know who they are? Leave a comment here or on our Facebook page and we will select a winner from all of the correct answers. The winner will get some luscious fat quarters from the collections of these designers. Good luck!

Stay tuned for more fun market sightings..

Quilt Market Finds

Monday, October 27th, 2008

Not only am I finding FABULOUS to die for fabric at quilt market….I also get to see lots of friends. I ran into Mark Lipinski at the Northcott booth. I am a big fan of Mark’s magazine, Quilter’s Home and loved his first fabric collection Califon. Mark has a new collection coming out in January called Krakow…here is a sneak peek in the blue colorway (behind Mark and I).

Quilt Market…the fun begins!

Sunday, October 26th, 2008

I’m writing from Houston, Texas, at the International Quilt Market. Did you ever wonder how quilt shops manage to have a completed quilt on the same day as the fabric arrives in the store? I always did and until Wish Upon A Quilt, I thought quilt shop owners were super fast quilters! Some may be, but for me, my market expedition starts at Sample Spree. This is a crazy event where quilt shop owners pay the vendors to shop for pre-releases of the newest fabrics so that we can get those shop samples made! That’s right….we pay to go in and spend money, lots and lots of money…so that we can buy bundles of fabric in order to make shop samples. And the best part is that we get to stand in this line for hours to get in because the fabric at Sample Spree always sells out very quickly!
